COVID-19 Update

September 16, 2020

December 28, 2020
Community Update:

Our team remains committed to communication throughout this time. We are continuing to make adjustments to our care delivery system based on information from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Hamilton Medical Center’s COVID 19 Task Force, and North Georgia Health District.

Working with the Georgia Department of Public Health we have completed baseline testing of all our residents and associates. We are providing free testing to all residents, associates, and sitters on a weekly basis until we have had 14 days of no new cases. We have also increased our sanitation efforts and began using full contact precautions when giving resident care to our most vulnerable population in an effort to slow the spread of the virus.

Royal Oaks has 1 associate that is positive for COVID-19.  We are currently only reporting the employees of our community.  For those of you with sitters or individuals hired to assist in the care of your loved one outside of the Hamilton system, we ask that you please insist on testing, proper hand sanitization, and the wearing of personal protective equipment of these individuals.  In an effort to protect our residents and team members, It is imperative that anyone who has tested positive not come to work at our community until they have been cleared by their physician and have received “okay to return to work” paperwork.

We will also continue to provide updates on a weekly basis or as new information becomes available through this website.

Weekly Update

6/19/2020

Currently; Royal Oaks and The Gardens at Royal Oaks have 0 residents and 3 associates have tested positive for COVID-19.  One associate has recovered and has been cleared by Hamilton’s Associate Health team and two are still recovering in quarantine.

The Royal Oaks and Gardens at Royal Oaks team have taken many preventative measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and keep our residents and associates safe including restricting access of visitors into the Gardens and discouraging visitors at Royal Oaks. We are grateful to Hamilton Medical Center for allowing us the usage of their Xenex machine to sanitize the work areas of the positive associates as well as other high traffic areas in the community. Over the last week, we have worked with the North Georgia Health District, the Department of Public Health and Hamilton Medical Center to offer testing to all residents and associates. We are happy to announce that all Gardens residents tested negative.

Our team continues to consistently screen associates for symptoms, restrict visitation and practice resident social distancing by no communal dining and/or group activities. The asymptomatic (without symptoms) spread of this virus remains very challenging for everyone. We are continuing to make adjustments to our care delivery system based on information from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Hamilton’s COVID-19 Task Force, and working with local health departments. We will also continue to provide updates on a weekly basis or as new information becomes available through calls, email, or this website.

The Affordability of Senior Living

April 19, 2019

Affordability of Senior Living Often when looking at becoming a part of a senior living community, individuals believe they cannot afford the expense that comes with it. However, after closely looking at your finances, it may become a surprise just how affordable it can be. Being in a senior living community can help take some burdens away all while having an all-inclusive monthly payment. With the one monthly payment, individuals do not have to think about other burdens, which may have arisen from continued home ownership.

Here at Royal Oaks our community offers several amenities that make senior living affordable. To start off, residing in a senior living community does not require having to pay property taxes. Eliminating this cost can go towards your all-inclusive monthly payment. Included in the monthly fee, residents of Royal Oaks do not have to worry about landscaping, or maintenance on their apartment home. The time that an individual was once spending doing these things can be turned into participating in social interactions as well as doing things enjoyed outside of the community.

With socials and activities being included in the monthly fee, the residents are able to be engaged, learn new things, and share their life experiences.  A price tag cannot be put on the community one builds with other residents while living here at Royal Oaks. Two chef prepared meals a day are also included in the monthly cost as well as weekly housekeeping and linen service. Utilities are also provided on a monthly basis except for cable and phone, and free Wi-Fi is available for use throughout the community.

Transportation can also be scheduled, which is also another amenity of senior living. With this service the residents within the community can be driven to local doctor appointments, beauty salons, and grocery stores, just to name a few. Becky Lowe, the valet driver for Royal Oaks stated, “I love providing transportation for the residents. They do not have to worry about car insurance, a car tag, and putting gas in the car. Residents also do not have to worry about finding a parking spot close to the store entrance. The residents often tell me how much they appreciate the transportation service as they get door to door drop off, which makes them feel safe.” By scheduled courtesy transportation being offered, this takes the burden off residents to not feel like they are unable to go places.

Exercise is a great way to enrich your life here at Royal Oaks we offer a free membership to the Bradley Wellness Center. Also, four times a week, certified staff members from the wellness center come over and teach exercise classes, ranging from “stretch and strength” to “balance and stretching.” These classes allow those who do not want to or are unable to participate in the free membership the opportunity to enhance their mobility and strength. By offering these services to our residents, they can continue to have an active and healthy lifestyle.

Everyone deserves a beautiful, relaxed, and carefree environment in their retirement years. When moving into a senior living community, do not let the cost steer you away. Royal Oaks is an establishment that offers amenities to those within the community to make them feel at home without the hassle and headache of the upkeep. Royal Oaks strives to meet the needs of every individual to the best of their ability and knows that those that have worked hard all their life deserves the opportunity to live within a senior living community.
