A native of Varnell, Georgia, Josh Rochester, joined Royal Oaks as Executive Director in the summer of 2021, bringing over 18 years of leadership experience in senior living. Before stepping into this role, he spent a decade as an Executive Director before advancing to a multi-state Regional Director of Operations position.
Reflecting on what inspired his journey in senior living, Josh shares,
“Like many, my passion for this field started with the deep relationships I had with my grandparents. As a child, I often accompanied my grandmother on visits to nursing homes and spent countless summer weekends camping in the mountains of eastern Tennessee with my grandparents and their senior friends. Those experiences shaped my respect and admiration for older adults and the incredible stories they carry.”
For Josh, joining Royal Oaks felt like coming home. Having launched his career with Hamilton Healthcare more than 20 years ago, he saw this opportunity as a meaningful way to give back to the community and town that hold a special place in his heart.
Outside of work, Josh enjoys staying active at Bradley Wellness Center, riding his Harley-Davidson, and taking spontaneous weekend trips. A devoted Georgia Bulldogs fan, he proudly cheers, “Go Dawgs!”
Josh’s favorite quote, which resonates deeply with his philosophy, is from John C. Maxwell: “Always touch a person’s heart before you ask him for a hand.”
